The Corporate Treasurer recently reported on an important development in trade finance. BHP Billiton, Cargill, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Westpac and shipping company Minerva Marine completed in August the first of a series of electronic document-based letters of credit for an iron ore trade using ESS’s CargoDocs.
