Japan’s Mt Gox hangover will hamper online currencies
Japan’s bank regulator is considering allowing the use of online currencies for payments, in a move that would give crypto-currencies equal standing to conventional currencies. But with Mt Gox’s downfall on the minds of consumers, it may not become a reality.
Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) may allow the use of online currencies for the same functions as traditional currencies, according to a report by Nikkei on March 1.
