
China's surprise online currency plan
The People’s Bank of China has announced it will launch an online currency in an attempt to reduce costs and combat money laundering. But the move is at odds with the bank's previous stance.

After previously showing limited interest in digital payment technology, the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) surprised many observers with its announcement that it will launch its own cryptocurrency.
