Alipay transactions have bumper CNY as travel bounces back
Overseas transactions surged 30% over 2024 as visa policies helped Chinese consumers travel more this year. In addition, the use of overseas e-wallets in China increased by 94%.
During the 2025 Chinese New Year (CNY), Alipay recorded a significant increase in China’s outbound and inbound travel spending.
