Wal-Mart China finds new CFO amid anti-graft probe

US retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc has installed Anne Myong as the new financial chief of its China business while a sprawling anti-graft probe is underway for alleged bribery cases stemming from its operation in Mexico that has led to more corruption-linked discoveries in India, China and Brazil.
Myong was named the CFO of Wal-Mart China in late January, to replace Mario Jose. She served as the senior vice present and chief administrative officer of Wal-Mart China for 15 months. Jose is posed to step into another senior financial management role for Wal-Mart in Latin America.
Wal-Mart’s alleged corruption case has made it a subject of anti-graft authorities in the US, India and Mexico, and the unfolding scandal has seen the company suspended Pankaj Madan, CFO of its Indian venture Bharti Walmart, last winter.
Myong’s appointment is the latest twist to the retailer’s top management reshuffle in China which saw Wal-Mart China’s CFO Roland Lawrence and chief operating officer Rob Cissell resigned in May 2011.
