
Volley of fire incidents puts Bangladesh's workplace safety under scrutiny
Bangladesh’s workplace safety, particularly in apparel factories, is again under question, after several major fire incidents in October, including at Dhaka airport, which have injured and killed many workers, and resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars of damage.

At least four export-oriented factories caught fire in Bangladesh during the second and third weeks of October, raising doubts over the enforcement of fire safety measures at Bangladeshi factories, including the standard of workplace safety.
