Senior DB exec shuffled (again) into prominent TB role

Deutsche Bank today announced it had moved Mahesh Kini into a new role looking after the lender’s subsidiary business for Asia-Pacific, reporting to Kaushik Shaparia, head of global subsidiary coverage for transaction banking.
The role is focused on supporting the needs of the bank’s top clients with subsidiary operations, such as regional treasury centres, within the region – both for corporates and non-bank financial institutions. Kini replaces Eddy Henning who left for ING in Singapore this month in a similar role.
It’s been a busy 18 months for Kini. In August 2016 Deutsche Bank shuffled the books and moved Kini into a senior trade finance and cash management role after previously being the head of cash management for corporates in Asia.
Approximately six months later Kini was entrusted with looking after global transaction banking for China and corporate cash management for Greater China, taking over from Carl Wegner, after the bank merged roles. The bank said today that Kini will “continue to assume these roles in addition to his new position until a successor is announced.
Kini only moved to Shanghai from Singapore in September 2016, when he took over the China TFCMC role. He joined Deutsche Bank in 2007 from HSBC where he started out as head of sales for cash management corporates in Singapore.
