Asean single market ready before 2016 (sort of)
Malaysia’s trade minister, Mustapa Mohamed, assured the markets on January 26 the creation of the Asean Economic Community will be complete by the end of the year, although major issues, such as borderless travel between the 10 nations, will not be ready by 2020. Malaysia presently hold the rotating presidency of the Southeast Asian bloc this year.
