India’s central bank introduces a new scheme to deal with non-performing assets, allowing lenders to divide borrowers’ debt into sustainable debt and equity instruments.

The Reserve Bank of India has announced a Scheme for Sustainable Structuring of Stressed Assets (S4A), which will allow lenders to divide the debt of highly leveraged companies into sustainable debt and equity instruments.
