A recent Kyriba report found currency fluctuations to have a milder impact in 3Q21 compared to earlier quarters, but Asian ex-rates – especially the yuan – should be closely monitored, warns strategist.

Despite a strong US dollar, North American corporates continued to see significant impact to earnings resulting from currency fluctuations in the third quarter of 2021. US and Canada-based firms reported losses of $929 million due to currency volatility, while European corporations reported losses of $1.21 billion. However, this collective negative impact represented a 50% decrease from Q2 2021.
