Regulators in Indonesia are spooked and responding to what they fear is the second coming of the Asian Financial Crisis. Corporates are suffering as a result.

As previously reported by CT, Bank Indonesia (BI) has issued baffling corporate hedging requirements for foreign debt exposure, while the Ministry of Trade is misusing trade finance instruments to lock in foreign currency flows through letters of credit (LCs).
