Indonesia to redefine 'deposit' to aid banks’ LDRs
Bank Indonesia is planning to changes its existing definition of deposit in a bid to cool off an interest rate war in the country and increase bank liquidity.
Indonesia’s central bank is considering widening its definition of what it classes a deposit. The bank is keen to increase liquidity among lenders in the country and has acknowledged broadening the definition on a par with global peers could help this.
