
Hong Kong launches CBDC discussion paper
Hong Kong’s regulator is inviting the public to submit thoughts on key issues surrounding the introduction of a digital currency in the market.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the territory’s de facto central bank, has published a discussion paper examining the benefits and challenges, as well as design considerations, of a retail central bank digital currency (CBDC).
