
Chinese regulators begin ‘arduous’ fight for control over banking
A slew of regulations this month are further aimed at bad loans and reining in a precarious banking sector.

Faced with rising bad loans and falling profitability in the banking sector, China’s regulator is demanding banks take a hard look at their credit and risk exposure as it tightens Basel III financial regulations to halt what it has described as “chaos” in the banking sector.
