China to drag MMFs closer to international standards
Fearful of crunches in liquidity, China’s securities watchdog wishes to overhaul money market fund regulations. They are broadly in line with international standards.
On May 15, China’s top securities regulator announced proposed changes to the rules governing money market funds (MMFs) since they were first introduced into the country 11 years ago.
