
Asia accounts for big chunk of global trade finance gap: ADB study
Asia accounted for $692 billion of the global trade finance deficit of $1.6 trillion in 2015, hurting growth and jobs, a study by the Asian Development Bank found.

The trade finance gap in Asia reached $692 billion last year, according to an Asian Develoment Bank study released on September 7. The study, 2016 Trade Finance Gaps, Growth, and Jobs Survey, found a trade finance deficit in 2015 of $1.6 trillion worldwide, out of a total global market of $6.5 trillion to $8 trillion. The global trade finance deficit in 2014 was estimated at $1.4 trillion.
