
Apac corporates prioritise cash and liquidity amid tariff uncertainty
Investment strategies, such as MMFs, are being reconsidered, while cash buffers are growing; meanwhile a major US court ruling could derail the tariffs.

The importance of having adequate cash reserves at hand is being highlighted, as global trade policies shifted overnight on April 2 when US president Donald Trump announced his so-called ‘reciprocal’ tariffs. This move has been followed by a series of bilateral trade talks between the US and major economies, with China agreeing to a temporary 90-day deal on May 12.
