In 2012, AkzoNobel’s treasury team in China implemented a hybrid payment factory, which supports the processing of payments through a centralised system and is also linked to Swift’s connectivity networks. To our knowledge, AkzoNobel was the first global company to implement a payment factory in China in the wake of the country’s financial liberalisation.
