AirAsia Berhad named Vijay Gopalan as chief financial officer of AirAsia India on August 19, in a move aimed at bolstering the management of its new joint venture with Tata Group and Telestra Tradeplace.
Gopalan, a Chennai, India-based chartered accountant, was formerly the finance controller of Compass Group from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, he was an independent consultant for Power Producer and a visiting faculty at the Loyola Institute of Business Administration. He was also a manager at Ernst & Young for eight years from 2000.
